Fresh off an 85-66 setback to Ginebra that ended their three-game win streak last weekend, the FiberXers rediscovered their groove after a lethargic opening before completely demolishing the Batang Pier in the following frames.
Alec Stockton and Schonny Winston took charge for Converge as the convincing win improved them to a 5-3 win-loss record at fourth.
Converge is set for a week-long respite before it faces NLEX next Friday, May 23, while NorthPort looks forward to breaking its drought when it battles Magnolia on the following day.
On the other hand, NorthPort, which was continuously missing the services of star Arvin Tolentino due to hip flexor injury, plummeted to its fifth straight defeat and skidded to a 1-5 record.
Stockton proved to be deadly for the FiberXers after tallying season-best 33 points – three points shy from tying his career-high performance – on an 11-of-21 shooting that went along with three rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Winston, who came off the bench, chipped in 22 points, nine rebounds, and five assists, and one steal.
Justin Arana dazzled as well for Converge with a double-double effort of 18 points and 14 rebounds, while also dishing out three assists, even as Justine Baltazar added 10 markers.
Joshua Munzon registered 23 points on top of six rebounds and six assists, while Will Navarro had 20 points and nine assists in losing efforts for NorthPort.Cade Flores and James Kwekuteye also scored 14 and 12 points, respectively, which all went for naught.
