- Since the election period started in January, there was no validated election-related violence recorded in the region
The police efforts to maintain peaceful and orderly elections in Mimaropa paid off as the region recorded zero validated election-related incidents since the start of the election period in January.
Police Brig. Gen. Roger Quesada, director of the Police Regional Office 4B, said the peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections was also observed during the election day in Mindoro provinces, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan.
“The voting process in Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan remained calm and secure throughout election day, with no validated election-related incidents (ERIs) recorded. Voters were able to cast their ballots safely and without disruption,” said Quesada.
He attributed this to the election preparations, coordination with concerned government agencies and cooperation by candidates and their supporters.
Quesada said election enforcement operations also resulted in four liquor ban violations, and led to the apprehension of 32 individuals.
“This is a shared success. We thank our security personnel, election officials, media, volunteers, and the people of Mimaropa for their cooperation in ensuring a credible and peaceful electoral process,” said Quesada.
