DSWD opens registry to match Filipino families with gov't aid, services
In celebration of the International Day of Families on Thursday, May 15, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) launched a new digital platform designed to match Filipino families with appropriate government programs and services.
DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, who also chairs the National Committee on the Filipino Family (NCFF), led the launch of the “Pamilya sa Bagong Pilipinas Registry” on Wednesday.
“Ang alay natin para sa bawat pamilyang Pilipino ay ang mga inisyatibo na tunay na nagpapahalaga sa pamilya (What we offer to every Filipino family are initiatives that genuinely value the family). In response to this call, the DSWD is launching today a vital tool in achieving our mission: the Pamilya sa Bagong Pilipinas initiative, with the Pamilya sa Bagong Pilipinas Registry,” Gatchalian said.
The DSWD chief said the newly developed registry will give the agency a clearer and more comprehensive view of the needs of Filipino families, and allow it to deliver social welfare services more efficiently and effectively.
“The Pamilya sa Bagong Pilipinas Registry is a tool through which we can ensure that every family is seen, heard, and supported. Hindi lang ito tungkol sa datos—nakasentro ito sa layuning pagkilala at pagpapalakas ng milyon-milyong pamilyang Pilipino na siyang haligi ng ating bansa (This is not just about data—it is centered on the goal of recognizing and empowering the millions of Filipino families who are the foundation of our nation),” Gatchalian pointed out.
Through the registry, families can self-register, update their information, and access a list of DSWD programs and services tailored to their needs.
During the registration and data profiling stage, families will respond to detailed questions covering household composition, income, education, health status, access to services, among other key social indicators.
Once profiling is complete, families will receive a transaction receipt containing a unique family code that will serve as their official identification within the registry and will be used to connect them to relevant monetary and non-monetary programs and services.
This year’s International Day of Families theme, “Family-oriented Policies for Sustainable Development: Towards the Second World Summit for Social Development 2025,” highlights the importance of placing families at the heart of national development efforts.
