Cagayan governor-elect Aglipay urges unity

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Governor-elect
Edgar Aglipay urged unity in this province during his proclamation on Wednesday, May 14.
NEWLY-elected Cagayan Gov. Edgar Aglipay kneels as he appeals for unity in the province before other leaders during their proclamation on Wednesday.
Aglipay, a retired police officer and Philippine National Police chief, knelt before his fellow elected leaders as he made the call to ensure the safety of the people of Cagayan, particularly farmers and fishermen.
He said that he is optimistic that he can prevent conflicts among leaders since they all share the same goal of serving the province honestly.
Also proclaimed by the Provincial Board of Canvassers were Vice Gov. Manuel Mamba and congressmen Ramon Nolasco, first district; Aline Vargas-Alfonso, second district, and Jojo Pulsar Lara, third district.
Elected to the provincial board were Weng Retoma, Kamille Ponce, Romeo Garcia, Randy Ursulum, Alninoson Timbas, Vilmer Viloria, AJ Ponce, Romas de Asis, Jojo Caronan, and Odiboy Fausto.
