2 dead, 5 injured in Caloocan fire

  • The blaze affected around 100 individuals or 70 families, damaging about 80 houses and establishments.
Two people, including a 16-year-old girl and a 62-year-old man, died in a fire that broke out at a residential area in Barangay 81, Caloocan City on Wednesday, May 14.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), five other individuals were injured due to lacerations, abrasions, and electrocution.
The blaze affected around 120 individuals or 90 families, damaging about 70 houses and establishments.
The fire started at 4:50 p.m. and quickly escalated to the second alarm at 4:53 p.m. 
Firefighters were able to place the fire under control at 6:17 p.m. It was extinguished at 9:57 p.m.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire and have yet to determine the total amount of damage to property.
