'Sweet sweep victory': Lani Cayetano grateful for big win in Taguig

Mayor Lani Cayetano expressed gratitude after her entire slate swept the local elections in Taguig on May 12.
“Sweet sweep victory,” Cayetano posted on Facebook.
The Team Lani Cayetano (TLC) won all the seats for mayor, vice mayor, representatives of the 1st District of Taguig-Pateros and the 2nd District of Taguig, and councilor.
The Commission on Elections’ City Board of Canvassers proclaimed the winners in Taguig on May 13.
“Ganap na 1:25 pm ngayong araw ay naIproklama na ako para sa isang panibagong termino bilang Mayor ng mahal nating Lungsod Taguig. Sa napakalaking suportang inyong ipinakita, malinaw na bumoto kayo upang ipagkatiwala sa amin ang kinabukasan ng inyong mga anak, pamilya at ng ating Probinsyudad! (At exactly 1:25 pm today, I have been Proclaimed for a new term as Mayor of our beloved City of Taguig. With the overwhelming support you have shown, it is clear that you voted to entrust us with the future of your children, families, and our Probinsyudad!),” Cayetano said on May 13.
Cayetano won her second consecutive term as mayor against Arnel Cerafica of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and independent candidate Brigido Licudine.
Also winning for TLC are incumbent Vice Mayor Arvin Ian Alit, incumbent 1st District of Taguig-Pateros Rep. Ricardo “Ading” Cruz Jr. and Jorge Daniel Bocobo as representative of the 2nd District of Taguig, and all the 24 candidates for councilor.
For the hotly contested position of Taguig-Pateros representative, Cruz defeated former Taguig mayor and representative Lino Cayetano, Allan Cerafica, Peter dela Cruz and Ricardo Opoc.
Cruz was supported by Lani Cayetano and her husband, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, the brother of Lino Cayetano.
For the 2nd District of Taguig, Bocobo won over incumbent Rep. Pammy Zamora and Noe Manila.
