'Shang-Chi' star Simu Liu announces engagement to girlfriend Allison Hsu

Canadian actor and star of Marvel's "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings", Simu Liu (36), announced his engagement to Allison Hsu (28), after two years of dating.

The star of the 2021 Marvel film, revealed the news in a romantic Instagram post on May 11, which showed him and Allison sharing a kiss.

"From weekends in Paris, day trips to Palm Springs, long nights on set, afternoons vegging on the couch, and everything in between, I choose you forever and always," Simu wrote in his post.

Aside from his Instagram post, Simu also posted an IG story writing "Nine rings left" he wrote, referencing the title of his Marvel superhero film.

Meanwhile, Allison posted a series of photos showing a closer look at the engagement ring along with the caption, "Us forever ."

Simu and Allison, a digital marketing director at Interscope Records, have been linked since 2022.

That same year, she was listed on Forbes' 30 Under 30 in the music category, with the magazine noting Allison "leads all things digital and social for" artists including Billie Eilish, Finneas, and Lady Gaga.

On the other hand, Simu debuted as the Marvel superhero "Shang-Chi" in the 2021 film "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings."

This year he was also confirmed to join the massive cast of 2026's "Avengers: Doomsday" where he will be joined by Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, and other Marvel A-list actors.

Since "Shang-Chi," Simu also played the role of Ken in Greta Gerwig's blockbuster movie, "Barbie."
