Jay Park releases 'Mayday' music video featuring Ty Dolla $ign
Korean-American singer Jay Park and American rapper Ty Dolla $ign joined forces and released the “Mayday” music video.
“Mayday” ignites sparks between Jay and his honey-eyed love interest during a night out at the club. In addition to Ty Dolla $ign, the video includes cameos from Jay’s closest friends and collaborators, including Bay Area rapper P-Lo, rising stars Karri and Sunkis, Korean rapper Okasian and Jay’s right hand producer, Cha Cha Malone.
The single is from Jay Park’s “The One You Wanted,” an R&B album that was released in October.
Jay Park is kicking off his Serenades & Body Rolls World Tour with two sold-out arena shows in Seoul on May 24 and 25.
Eight years in the making, “The One You Wanted” is an evolution of Jay Park’s first R&B album, “Everything You Wanted,” which included the songs “All I Wanna Do,” “Solo” (feat. Hoody), and “Drive” (feat. Gray).
In “The One You Wanted,” Jay took inspiration from classic R&B of the 90s and early 2000s, paying homage to the likes of Musiq Soulchild, Maxwell and Jon. B., as well as from his own, two-decade long journey in the limelight.
The album featured hip-hop’s power players, Ty Dolla $ign, YG and P-Lo and Korean artists IU, Ningning of Aespa, Natty of Kiss of Life, Chungha and Hwasa.
Jay Park has established an illustrious career as a recording artist/performer, entrepreneur and CEO of renowned Korean music labels.
