- Imus City will continue its shortened workweek with extended hours for the rest of May to help employees cope with the extreme heat.
CAVITE – The local government unit (LGU) of Imus City announced the extension of its four-day workweek scheme due to extreme heat.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, May 14, the city government said the compressed workweek will remain in effect until May 31.
Under the arrangement, government offices are open from Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., providing extended daily hours in exchange for a shortened workweek.
Essential offices and frontline services, meanwhile, remain open to offer uninterrupted public service despite the shortened workweek.
The LGU initially announced the implementation of a compressed workweek on April 4, to take effect from April 7 until May 15.
