What do Surigao del Norte 2nd district Rep. Roberts Ace Barbers, Mandaluyong City lone district Rep. Neptali Boyet Gonzales II, and Senator Juan Miguel Migz Zubiri have in common?

Their respective lovely wives ran for seats in the House of Representatives during the May 12 mid-term elections and won.

Bernadette Barbers will be taking over the seat of Rep. Barbers, who has served his third and final term in the House in the 19th Congress.

In a Facebook post Tuesday, May 13, Bernadette vowed to her constituents that she will never let them down.

Salamat karajaw sa ijo dako na pagsalig, suporta, sanan kompyansa . An idjo gugma tag pakita ako suklian nan Tiunay na serbisyo publiko ug walay mantsa na pag dumaya sa distrito dos isip idjo congresswoman ..I promise na ako himoon tanan kutob sa ako makaya na magrepresentar nan tingog nan mga Surigaonon didto sa kauluhan, she wrote in Surigaonon.

(Thank you so much for your great trust, support, and confidence. The love you have shown me will be repaid with genuine public service, free from any stain of dishonesty, as your congresswoman for the second district. I promise to do everything within my power to represent the voice of the Surigaonons in the capital.)

Rep. Gonzales' wife, Queenie Gonzales, wrote a similar message of thanks on Tuesday on her Facebook wall. This isn't her first rodeo, having served as Mandaluyong congresswoman from 2016 to 2019 when she held the position of deputy majority leader. 

Maraming maraming salamat po! Anim (6) na taon po akong hindi naka-pwesto sa kahit anong posisyon sa bayan…ngunit napaka-init pa rin po ng pagtanggap ninyo sa akin (For six years, I have not held any position in public office… yet your warm welcome remains unwavering).

I am touched and overwhelmed with your trust and love, still, Queenie said. Rep. Gonzales has also served his third and final term.

Audrey Zubiri, wife of former Senate President Zubiri, is the incoming Bukidnon 3rd district representative.

The senator took to his Facebook Tuesday and addressed his people in the province.

Sa atong mga pinalangga na mga igsoon sa 3rd District sa Bukidnon, Daghang kaayong Salamat sa inyo na tanan! Salamat sa inyong pag salig sa akong kapikas ug sa among pamilya ilabi na sa among Bando na One Bukidnon, he wrote.

(To our beloved brothers and sisters in the 3rd District of Bukidnon, a heartfelt thank you to all of you! Thank you for your trust in my partner and our family, especially in our One Bukidnon alliance.)

Daghang Salamat pud sa tanan natong mga lideres sa barangay ug sa mga purok na naningkamot sa atong kadaugan. Makasalig kamo na doblihon pa namo ang among paningkamot sa paghatag sang tinu-oray na serbisyo sa katawhan sa Bukidnon ug sa Mindanao, he added.
