CEBU CITY – Team Abante Bohol, led by Gov. Erico Aris Aumentado, scored a resounding victory in the midterm elections in the province.

Aumentado earned a fresh term after a lopsided win over two challengers. He got 563,746 votes while his opponents, Dan Lim and Hardy Leopando, received 153,748 and 24,852 votes, respectively.
Aumentado’s wife, Bohol second district Rep. Vanessa Aumentado, was also reelected. She received 187,719 votes. Her opponent, Modesto Membreve, could only muster 50,308 votes.
Aumentado’s running mate, Nick Bessas, beat Gerardo Garcia and Santos Abella.
The governor’s allies swept the two congressional races in the province.
Former Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap was elected as first district representative, defeating Rep. Edgar Chato.
Alexi Tutor was reelected as third district representative.
The provincial board will be composed of Aumentado’s allies.
Aumentado’s niece, Jamie-Aumentado Villamor, was reelected in the second district. The other winners were Tommy Abapo and Fernando Estavilla.
In the first district, winners were Lucille Lagunay, Dok Mutya Tirol, and Venzencio “Benjie” Arcamo.
Winners in the third district were Tita Baja, Dj Balite, Greg Jala, and Nathaniel Binlod.
The governor thanked his supporters on Facebook.
“To all Boholanos, thank you for your continued support. As always, abante (forward) Bohol!” he said.
