Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie “Wes” Gatchalian secured his second term as the city’s chief executive following the 2025 midterm elections held on Monday, May 12.

- Valenzuela City Mayor Wes Gatchalian secured 295,876 votes.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) officially proclaimed the winners early Tuesday morning, May 13, at the ALERT Center Multi-purpose Hall.
Running unopposed, Gatchalian garnered 295,876 votes. His running mate, First District Councilor Marlon Alejandrino, was elected vice mayor with 244,708 votes. He will succeed Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, who successfully ran for councilor in District 2.
In the congressional races, Tuloy ang Progreso candidate Kenneth Gatchalian narrowly won in District 1 with 80,410 votes, edging out Tony Espiritu who received 79,629 votes. In District 2, independent candidate and incumbent councilor Gerald Galang emerged victorious with 95,878 votes, defeating Dra. Kat Martinez, who got 80,490.
For the City Council, elected officials in District 1 include reelectionists Cris Feliciano-Tan, Ghogo Deato Lee, and Atty. Bimbo Dela Cruz, along with newcomers Atty. Richard Enriquez, Kisha Ancheta, and Goyong Serrano.
In District 2, the winners were Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, who returns to the council, along with reelectionists Niña Lopez, Sel Sabino-Sy, Chiqui Carreon, Mickey Pineda, and Louie Nolasco.
Valenzuela had a total of 439,573 registered voters across its 33 barangays, with Barangay Malinta being the most vote-rich in District 1, and Barangay Gen. T. De Leon in District 2.
In a social media post, Gatchalian thanked Valenzuelanos for their continued trust and support.
“Sa ikalawang yugto ng aking pamumuno, sama-sama nating itaguyod ang mas maunlad at mas liveable na Valenzuela City (In the second chapter of my leadership, let us work together to build a more progressive and more livable Valenzuela City),” he said.
He also vowed to further improve the city’s infrastructure, healthcare, education, and social services to ensure that progress reaches all sectors of the community.
