- Rizal Governor Nina Ynares' reelection bid resulted in victory as she enjoyed a wide lead over her political rivals.
Incumbent Governor Nina Ricci Ynares has been reelected as the governor of Rizal Province.
Gov. Ynares has garnered 884,132 votes based on the Certificate of Canvass from the Provincial Board of Canvassers (PBOC).
Her rival, Jose Velasco got some 59,89 votes, followed by Ronald Perez who received around 44,255 votes as of the 10 a.m. initial canvassing.
Comelec-Rizal’s provincial election supervisor, Atty. Arnulfo Pioquinto led the proclamation of the winning candidates around 1 p.m. on May 13 at the provincial capitol.
Antipolo Vice Mayor Josefina Gatlabayan was also proclaimed as the new vice governor of Rizal Province as she got 600,553 votes based on the copy of the COC obtained by Manila Bulletin from the canvassing center.
Nina Ricci, who is the eldest of the three children of former Rizal governors Casimiro “Ito” Ynares and Rebecca “Nini” Ynares, was first elected in 2022 as governor.
Her sister, Mia, a congressional candidate, and brother, Antipolo City Mayor Casimiro “Junjun” Ynares III also won and proclaimed following the May 12 election.
