Vice President Sara Duterte expressed her disappointed at the partial and unofficial results of the Senate race, wherein only three of the so-called "DuterTen" candidates are currently ranked inside the "Magic 12".

“I acknowledge the results of the election and express my deep gratitude to all the supporters who stood with us throughout this journey,” she said in a statement on late Monday night, May 12.

“While the outcome was not what we had hoped for, our commitment to the people remains unwavering. We will continue to hold the government accountable, advocate for the issues that matter, and work tirelessly to serve as a strong and constructive opposition,” she added.

Currently, incumbent Senators Bong Go and Ronald Dela Rosa are ranked Top 1 and 3, respectively, while Sagip Partylist Rep. Rodante Marcoleta is at the 6th spot.

The ranking is based on the partial and unofficial results of the Senate race as of 12:01 a.m. of May 13 with 77.65 percent of election returns transmitted.

Duterte earlier told her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, via phone call that a “realistic” scenario was for only three DuterTe candidates to get into the Top 12.

Her personal endorsements and adopted candidates of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban)—Senator Imee Marcos and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar—are also inside the Magic 12, ranking between the 10th and 12th place.

With more than half of PDP-Laban’s bets missing out on the Top 12 spots, the Vice President enjoined the public to build “a powerful and principled opposition.”

“This is not the end—it’s a renewed beginning. We invite all citizens—regardless of background or past affiliation—to join us in building a powerful and principled opposition,” she said.

“Together, we can shape a future that is fair, inclusive, and just. Stand with us,” she added.
