The Commission on Elections (Comelec) officially declared incumbent Mayor John Rey Tiangco as the re-elected mayor of Navotas on Tuesday, May 13, after he secured a commanding 120,283 votes, earning another term in office.

In a Facebook live broadcast following his proclamation, Tiangco expressed deep gratitude to the people of Navotas for their unwavering trust and support throughout his tenure.

“Maraming salamat po sa inyong suporta — hindi lang ngayong halalan, kundi sa bawat araw ng ating panunungkulan. Hindi po natin magagawa ang lahat ng ito kung wala ang tiwala at suporta ninyo sa ating mga programa ( Thank you very much for your support—not just during this election, but every single day of our public service. None of this would be possible without your trust and support for our programs),” he said.

“Patuloy po nating pagbubutihin ang ating serbisyo dahil alam nating hindi dito nagtatapos ang ating tagumpay. Ang tunay na tagumpay ay kapag naibigay natin ang totoong serbisyo na mag-aangat sa antas ng buhay ng bawat isa sa ating mga kababayan (We will continue to improve our service because we know that our success doesn’t end here. True success is when we can deliver genuine service that uplifts the lives of every citizen),” he added.

Tiangco also took the opportunity to thank those who helped and supported his campaign, including teachers and members of the electoral board.

“Sana po ay patuloy ninyo kaming samahan. Maraming salamat sa lahat ng tumulong at sumuporta — lalo na sa mga guro at sa mga miyembro ng electoral board na nagsakripisyo at nagtrabaho nang buong puso (We hope you will continue to stand with us. Thank you to everyone who helped and supported us—especially our teachers and members of the electoral board who worked and sacrificed wholeheartedly),” Tiangco said.

“Patuloy po tayong makikinig sa inyong mga pangangailangan. Muli, maraming salamat po at mabuhay kayong lahat (We will keep listening to your needs. Once again, thank you all and may you continue to thrive),” he added.
