Mayor Honey accepts public's decision with gratitude after election results

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan has publicly accepted the outcome of the recent elections, expressing humility and gratitude to the people of Manila, regardless of the results.
Lacuna shared her heartfelt message in a video uploaded on her Facebook page.
The lady mayor said she respects the decision of the majority and thanked those who supported her throughout her term and campaign.

"Nais kong ipahayag ang taos puso kong pasasalamat sa lahat ng mga nagtiwala, tumulong, sumama, nakiisa at nakibahagi sa ating paninindigan. Maraming salamat sa mga naglaan ng panahon, sa mga nag-alay ng kanilang lakas, talino at kakayahan, sa pagsama sa ating kampanya. Buong kababaang loob nating tinatanggap ang kapasyahan ng higit na nakararami sa atin (I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all who trusted, helped, joined, supported, and took part in our cause. Thank you to those who gave their time, shared their strength, wisdom, and skills, and stood by our campaign. With full humility, we accept the decision of the majority)," she said.

Lacuna noted that the elections are now over and that another chapter in democracy has unfolded, emphasizing that election day is a time when people from all walks of life have equal power.

She also thanked the people of Manila for the opportunity and privilege to serve as the city’s first female mayor.

"Buong pagpapakumbaba kong ipinagkakapuri ang malaking karangalan na ipinagkaloob ninyo sa akin (With utmost humility, I take pride in the great honor you have given me)," the mayor expressed.

"Mula noon at magpahanggang ngayon, taas noo nating inaalay ang tapat at totoong serbisyo sa mamamayang Manileño. Habambuhay kong handog sa inyo ang pagmamahal ng isang ina at kalinga ng isang doktora (From then until now, we proudly offer sincere and honest service to the people of Manila. For the rest of my life, I dedicate to you the love of a mother and the care of a doctor)," she added.

Lacuna assumed office on June 30, 2022, after succeeding Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso, and served as Manila’s first female mayor of the capital city.

Over her three-year term, she launched several flagship programs like Kalinga sa Maynila, bringing essential city services closer to the city's 897 barangays, and worked to reduce the city’s debt.

Domagoso is set to be proclaimed after winning in the 2025 mayoral election, marking his return to Manila City Hall.
