Isko Moreno Domagoso set to be proclaimed following election victory

According to the partial and unofficial results as of 12:46 p.m., with 99.31% of election returns processed, Domagoso secured a clear lead over his rivals, signaling his strong return to the City Hall.

Former Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso is expected to be officially proclaimed on Tuesday, May 13, as the Commission on Elections (Comelec) nears the completion of its canvassing of votes.

According to the partial and unofficial results as of 12:46 p.m., with 99.31 percent of election returns processed, Domagoso secured a clear lead over his rivals, signaling a strong return to public office.

Domagoso, with 526,853 votes, is far ahead of his closest rival, the incumbent Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan, who has garnered 189,646 votes.

Independent candidate Sam Verzosa follows with 163,413 votes.

His proclamation is anticipated to take place at Manila City Hall, once the final votes are officially tallied.

Domagoso, who served as mayor of the capital city from 2019 to 2022, has been widely recognized for his pro-poor policies, infrastructure initiatives, and swift pandemic response.

In a short statement on Tuesday, Domagoso and his running mate Chi Atienza, who also leads in the count, thanked his supporters for their continued trust.

The Comelec is expected to issue the official certificate of proclamation once the final canvassing confirms Domagoso and Atienza’s wins.
