Santa Rosa City lone district Rep. Dan Fernandez has conceded the Laguna gubernatorial race to Sol Aragones.
In a Facebook post on Monday night, May 12, or a few hours after the mid-term elections, Fernandez thanked his supporters for staying by his side throughout the campaign, before ultimately congratulating Aragones, whom he tagged.
(To everyone who trusted, supported, and continued to stand with me, I express my heartfelt gratitude. Even though we did not achieve success in this election, my commitment and love for our province will remain steadfast.)
Nawa’y maging matagumpay ang kanyang pamumuno at magsilbing daan tungo sa mas maunlad at mas pagkakaisang Laguna," added Fernandez, a co-chairman of the House quad-committee (quad-comm).
(I also extend my congratulations to Gov. Sol Aragones on her victory. May her leadership achieve success and serve as a pathway to a more prosperous and united Laguna.)
As if to console his followers, Fernandez vowed that he would continue to work for the benefit of the province.
(Our objective does not end here. You can always count on my support for both those who have won and those who will win in the future, for the sake of all of Laguna. In every way I can, I will continue to be a public servant—not by holding office, but through heart, actions, and conviction.)
