There’s no denying that fitness is having a moment. What was once confined to gyms and training studios has evolved—getting active now means more than just lifting weights or hitting the treadmill. Locally, this shift is evident in the rise of run clubs and active communities, cities implementing car-free days for recreational activities, and shopping centers converting spaces into courts and sports facilities.
Salomon brings its collaboration with Maison Margiela to the Philippines
Style in every stride

In fashion, designing pieces with both athletic function and sports-inspired aesthetics is nothing new. But as active communities continue to grow, brands are now challenged to create items that go beyond just performance, comfort, and durability. These pieces must also reflect the passion and lifestyle of the people who wear them.
The latest to embrace this direction is sports equipment manufacturer Salomon, which has partnered with another iconic French brand, Maison Margiela, to launch a true hybrid: a fashion-meets-performance collaboration that bridges the trail and the trend.
MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon XT-4 Mule
Utilitarian and avant-garde, this new chapter in the collaboration fuses minimalist, deconstructed design with Salomon’s technical trail heritage. An ode to quotidian dressing—practical, comfortable, and effortless style—the collaboration first debuted on the Maison’s autumn-winter 2022 runway.
A standout piece is the MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon XT-4 Mule, a bold reinterpretation of the XT-4 in a slip-on silhouette. Its open-heeled design brings ease to technical construction, while staying grounded in Salomon’s performance DNA.
The partnership was officially introduced in the Philippines during the opening of Salomon’s newest and largest store in the country, located in SM Mall of Asia. Inside the store, visitors can find the brand’s iconic XT-6 trail runner, along with sportstyle sneakers and performance apparel.
