Repairs on expansion joints along the northbound section of the Manuel Roxas Jr. Flyover in Tondo, Manila, have started as part of a major retrofitting and strengthening project, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.

In a report, the DPWH–North Manila District Engineering Office said lane closures are being carried out in phases to ensure public safety and minimize traffic disruption.

Each phase covers two consecutive expansion joints per half-lane, with repairs expected to take seven days per segment.

Motorists are advised to anticipate slow-moving traffic and use service roads as alternate routes while rehabilitation works are ongoing.

The project forms part of the Marcos administration’s “Build Better More” infrastructure program, led by DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, which aims to improve road safety and strengthen Metro Manila’s transport network.
