Pangilinan and his wife Sharon Cuneta arrived at the Inchican Elementary School in Silang, Cavite at around 9 a.m. on Monday.

While waiting in line, Pangilinan said he was hoping for the best, and left it to the voters to decide.

"We hope for the best. Tingnan natin. Basta ang importante dito, we offered ourselves sa ating mga kababayan (Let's see. What's important is we offered ourselves to our fellowmen)," Pangilinan said.

He also believed he has done all that he can during the 90-day campaign period, stressing that he can only hope for the best now and rely on God.

"Alam natin ginawa natin ang lahat. May mga bagay na wala na sa ating kamay, yung mga bagay na yun, ipapasadiyos na, in another words: Whatever is not in our hands, ipapasa-Diyos natin. Magtiwala lang. I'm hoping for the best. And siyempre, you expect also (We know that we did everything. There are things that are beyond our control, and we leave them up to the Lord. Whatever is not in our hands, we offer it to God. Just trust. I'm hoping for the best. And of course, you expect also). We'll see, we'll see," Pangilinan said.

"Ako naman ay naniniwalang, ang taumbayan naman eventually sila ang magpapasaya at kung ano man ang resulta, kailangan we will have to respect (I believe that the people will eventually decide, whatever the result is, we will have to respect)," he added.

The former senator also cited that in several cases, there are candidates who enter the top 12 even after not making it to the pre-election surveys.

"We'll see. Hintaying natin hanggang dulo. Kalma kalma lang (Let's wait until the end. Let's be calm)," he said.

Pangilinan bared that as what he always does, he also lit a candle for a peaceful election and to pray for Filipinos to be discerning on Election Day.

"As I always do, nagsisindi ako ng kandila para idasal na maging mapayapa ang halalan, at siyempre na ang ating mga kababayan na maging masinop at mapanuri (I lighted a candle to pray that the elections be peaceful and of course for our fellow Filipinos to be prudent and critical)," the former senator said.

Be patient
Pangilinan also urged voters to go out and vote, and be patient while waiting for their turn to cast their ballot.

"Matagal yung pila, maging mapagpasensya. Minsan lang naman sa tatlong taon ito kaya—kinabukasan naman ng ating bansa ang pinag-uusapan—kaya konting pasensya lang (You'll wait in line, but be patient. We only do this once in three years, and our future is on the line, so let is be a little patient)," he said.

The former senator also urged them to vote early in case technical issues would occur.

He likewise hoped the Commission on Elections (Comelec) would promptly address the reports on malfunctioning voting machines.

Plans after Election Day

Pangilinan bared that he has already three things lined up in his schedule after the May 12 polls. It includes sleeping, reading, and attending his daughter Frankie's graduation.

"I plan to sleep again," he said in jest as he shared that the eve of election day was his first eight-hour sleep in 90 days.

"Siguro yung mga libro na matagal ko nang hindi nababasa ay babasahin ko na. Of course, graduation ni Frankie this week, so we will be flying out after bilangan dahil tapos na ng college. Malaking bagay na magtatapos na siya (Perhaps, I will read the books that I haven't read. Of course, it's Frankie's graduation this week, so we will be flying out after the counting of votes because she has finished college. It's a huge thing she's completed college)," he said.

Priority bills
If reelected, Pangilinan said he will push for a higher budget for the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the free breakfast program from kindergarten to senior high school.

"Yung increase in the budget of the Department of Agriculture. Long-time coming 'yan, kulang na kulang. Dapat babantayan natin yung paggastos nito, dapat direkta ang pakinabang sa ating magsasaka at mangingisda. Palakasin ang kanilang ani, yung post-harvest at siyempre dumagdag ang kanilang kita (The increase in the budget of the Department of Agriculture. That's been a long time coming. It is not enough. We also have to guard how the budget will be spent, it should directly benefit our farmers and fishermen. Boost their produce, post-harvest production, and increase their income)," he said when asked what his priority bills would be if reelected.

"Yung libreng almusal, mula kinder hanggang Grade 12 to address both the crisis in education, actually three malnutrition, and dagdag na kita sa farmers. And of course yung full implementation of —already a law but has not been fully implemented —  yung Sagip Saka Act (The free breakfast from kinder to Grade 12 to address both the crisis in education, actually, there's three—malnutrition, and additional income for farmers. And of course, the full implementation of the Sagip Saka Act which is already a law but has not been fully implemented)," he added.

The former senator also aims to bring down the price of rice by way of resolution and investigation.
