LUCENA CITY, Quezon – The elections in the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon area were generally peaceful, the Police Regional Office 4-A said.
PRO 4-A chief Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas said they only recorded isolated incidents and these were resolved with the cooperation of other government agencies
Twenty-one were arrested for violating the liquor ban and an individual was arrested for possessing a gun replica.
Lucas thanked PRO 4-A officers for ensuring peaceful elections in their areas and the Commission on Elections, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Department of Education (DepEd), force multipliers, and the media for their assistance.
Prominent personalities in Southern Luzon cast their votes on Monday.
Batangas gubernatorial bet Vilma Santos-Recto voted in Lipa City, along with husband Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, running mate and son actor Luis Manzano, and Ryan Christian Recto, who is gunning for the congressional seat in Lipa City.
In Laguna, gubernatorial candidate Vice Gov. Karen Agapay cast her vote at the Laguna State Polytechnic University in San Pablo City.
Her opponent Ruth Hernandez, and Gov. Ramil Hernandez, who is running for congressman in the second district of Laguna, voted at the Bay Central Elementary School in Bay town.
Sol Aragones, also a candidate for governor, voted at the San Lucas 1 Elementary School in San Pablo City.
Mall voting was conducted at SM City in Santa Rosa City, Laguna, for the first time.
