Some voting precincts in Tondo, Manila experienced technical issues with automated counting machines (ACMs) on Monday, May 12, causing delays during the voting period.
Among the affected areas was President Corazon C. Aquino High School in Baseco, where two precincts encountered problems with their ACMs.
According to the officers of the electoral board, the machine assigned to Precinct #1053 failed to lock properly, preventing it from functioning normally and causing long lines of waiting voters.
Other precincts in Tondo’s 1st and 2nd districts also reported machine malfunctions, including ballot rejections and initialization errors.
Some voters were given the option to wait or leave their ballots for batch-feeding once replacement machines became available.
Technicians were also immediately dispatched to the affected precincts to restore normal operations.
