The liquor ban, which started on May 11, prohibits the selling, serving, buying, offering, and consumption of alcoholic beverages during the two-day election period in a bid to prevent risk of alcohol-related incidents that could disrupt the peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections.
Quesada said his men were instructed to enforce the ban, along with other security measures in Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan.
“To enforce this directive, police units have been deployed to conduct intensified patrols, checkpoints, and proactive monitoring to deter violations and respond swiftly to any incidents,” said Quesada.
“We urge everyone to take this directive seriously. The liquor ban is part of our broader efforts to maintain peace and order during the elections. Respect for the law, discipline in our communities, and shared vigilance are key to ensuring safe and credible elections for all,” he added.
