The Philippine College of Surgeons (PCS) has urged candidates, voters, and stakeholders to uphold integrity and respect in the upcoming 2025 national and local elections.
In a statement released on Sunday, May 11, the group of surgeons underscored the need for a transparent and fair electoral process.
“The Philippine College of Surgeons respectfully calls upon all candidates, voters, and stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of integrity, civility, and respect as we approach the 2025 national and local elections,” PCS stated.
The organization stressed the importance of conducting elections that are “honest, transparent, and free from any form of deception or dishonesty.”
“Let us exercise our civic duties responsibly, ensuring that every vote truly reflects the genuine choice and fairness of the Filipino people,” it added.
The PCS also appealed to the public to maintain peace and order during the election period.
“Let us reject violence, hostility, and misinformation, and instead foster a spirit of unity, respect, and brotherhood in pursuit of a democratic process that accurately represents the will of the Filipino nation,” the group said.
“As stewards of public trust and national progress, the Philippine College of Surgeons reaffirms its commitment to uphold the values of integrity, peace, and democracy. May this election be a testament to our collective dedication to building a better future for our country,” PCS went on.
Over 68 million registered voters are expected to cast their ballots on Monday, May 12, for the 2025 polls, where Filipinos will elect senators, congressional representatives, and local officials nationwide.
