The Land Transportation Office (LTO) suspended for 90 days the license of the minibus driver following a road crash that left at least 13 people injured in Baguio City on Saturday, May 10.
LTO chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II said the suspension order was stated in the show cause order (SCO) issued to the bus driver after the road crash that occurred at the vicinity of the Crystal Cave in Bekekeng Central.
“We already directed the driver, a resident of La Union, to surrender his driver’s license in the soonest possible time. The investigation will formally start with the hearing scheduled on May 20,” said Mendoza.
Based on the initial investigation, the minibus hit a motorcycle and a concrete post during the incident. And the LTO wants to find out why.
The incident inflicted injuries to the passengers and the motorcycle rider.
Mendoza said the driver was asked to explain in writing why he should not be held liable for reckless driving and why his driver’s license should not be revoked for being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle.
