BACOLOD CITY – The city government is set to establish a hub for emergency services after Rockwell Land Corp. donated a 1,986-square meter lot on Buri Road in Barangay Mandalagan here where a fire substation, a police station, and a Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) command center will be built.

Mayor Albee Benitez recently met Rockwell representatives to finalize the documentation that paved the way for construction.
The project received an initial P10-million funding from Sen. Francis Tolentino last year.
Construction will be led by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), with design coordination from the City Engineer’s Office to ensure alignment with overall development aesthetics.
City and emergency officials, including representatives from the Bacolod City Police Office and Bacolod City Fire Station, joined the planning meeting.
The new facilities are expected to enhance this city’s emergency response capacity, especially with the planned permanent relocation of Police Station 3 from its current site beside the barangay hall.
Present during the coordination meeting were Rockwell representatives Architect Louie Sacdalan, senior construction manager; Danie Timson, assistant manager for permits, licensing, and registration; Mars Lopez, assistant vice president for Rockwell-Bacolod, and Albert Loberes, assistant vice president for permits, licensing, and registration.
