Trabaho party-list nominee Ninai Chavez campaigned in the Bicol region on Friday, May 9, and stressed their advocacy to make sure that parents cope with not just their daily expenses but also their emergency needs.
“Mga ‘nay, ‘tay, ang kailangan natin ay trabaho na kayang pondohan ang kalidad at maayos na pamumuhay. Para in times of emergency, sa awa ng Diyos ay ‘wag sana mangyari, mayroon tayong ipon para makatulong pang-ospital ba o kung ano man (To our mothers and fathers here, we need a job that can sustain a quality living. So that in times of emergency – God willing it will not happen – we having savings to help us cover for hospital expenses, among others),” said Chavez, a Bicol region native, in an evening sortie at the Labo Sports Complex, Camarines Norte.
Chavez was accompanied by and celebrity couple Jason and Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, known as ‘’Melason.’’

Chavez disclosed the other priorities of Trabaho (No. 106 in the ballot) for workers
– adequate pay and additional benefits like allowances for their medical, transportation, grocery, and education.
Trabaho party-list also revealed its support for nationwide internet access to bridge the digital divide that continues to limit the potential of many Filipinos, especially those living in non-Luzon regions.
“Bilang part po ng youth, naiintindihan ko po ang importansya ng Wi-Fi para sa ating araw-araw na pamumuhay. Sa eskwelahan ng bata, sa trabaho, at sa negosyo. Sa mga ate at kuya ko diyan na may trabaho sa umaga at sa gabi ay nagla-live selling pa (As part of the youth sector, I understand the importance of having reliable internet connection in our day-to-day living for the school work of the kids, at work, and for the business, as well as for my sisters and brothers in the crowd tonight with day job and live selling gig at night).
After her speech, Melason raised the hands of Chavez in support not only for the platform of Trabaho but also for their other nominees, whose competence, credibility, professional track record, and commitment to public service they have vouched for.
