Regine drops Mother's Day song 'Lahat Ay Kayang Gawin' penned by Jamie

OPM hitmaker Regine Velasquez-Alcasid expresses a mom’s pure and unconditional love towards her child in her new single “Lahat Ay Kayang Gawin” written by another OPM icon, Jamie Rivera, and released in time for Mother’s Day.

“As a mother, I would take this statement to heart, as it is probably my mindset when it comes to taking my role seriously. It is perhaps the most significant endeavor I have next being a wife, of course,” Regine said about what the song means to her.  

Jamie, meanwhile, said that she really wanted the Asia’s Songbird to interpret the latest Inspire Music release because of how Regine handles the joy and challenges of motherhood.

“I would watch the postings of Regine and I saw how hands-on she is as a mom and how proud she is with Nate’s achievements,” the Inspirational Diva shared. “I am very happy with her interpretation, and my admiration for Regine grew stronger. The song became more meaningful when Regine sang it because her voice resonates the voice of a loving mom.”

Apart from drawing from Regine’s and her own experience as a mom, Jamie also talked about her other inspiration for the Mother’s Day song.  

“I also saw the sacrifices that our household helpers are making for their children. They will do anything just to be able to send their children to school and to make sure that they can provide for their everyday needs,” she said.  

Regine was happy to collaborate on the special song with Jamie, whom she considers a dear friend. 

She shared, “Jamie is a dear friend, and we’ve come a long, long way. Recording with her brings back memories of when we were still starting together in the music industry. I applaud her writing and producing songs all these years.”
