CEBU CITY – The Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) is ready for the elections on May 12.
The PRO-7 headed by Police Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said security plans, coordination protocols, deployment schedules, and contingency measures are in place.
The PRO-7 has coordinated with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and other government agencies to ensure peaceful and orderly elections in Central Visayas.
Maranan assured that they are ready to respond to any eventualities and safeguard the voters.
“We are 100 percent ready. All police units in Central Visayas are on full alert and fully equipped to secure voting precincts, safeguard the transport of election paraphernalia, and respond to any threat to the electoral process. Our commitment is clear: We will protect every voter and uphold the credibility of the elections,” Maranan said.
Uniformed police personnel will be deployed in polling centers, transportation hubs, and other election areas of concern.
The PRO-7 has activated the Regional Monitoring Action Center.
To ensure that there will be sufficient personnel, filing of leaves were not allowed until after the election.
