The Department of Tourism (DOT) welcomed the inclusion of five more Philippine hotels in the MICHELIN Guide Hotels List, raising the country’s total to 11 internationally recognized properties.

DOT Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco said the recognition affirms the Philippines' ability to offer world-class tourism experiences and highlights the renowned warmth of Filipino hospitality under the Marcos administration.

The newly listed DOT-accredited hotels are Fairmont Makati, Manila Marriott Hotel at Newport World Resorts, Solaire Resort Entertainment City, Raffles Makati, and Shangri-La The Fort, Manila, all located in Metro Manila.

These new additions join six previously recognized hotels in the 2024 MICHELIN Guide, including Amanpulo in Palawan, Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan in Cebu, Nay Palad Hideaway in Siargao, Hotel Okura Manila, Admiral Hotel Manila - MGallery, and The Peninsula Manila.

The MICHELIN Guide, a global leader in luxury travel, showcases over 6,000 hotels across 130 countries, selected based on rigorous criteria such as design, service, authenticity, and value for money.

Each property in the guide is celebrated as “a destination unto itself,” offering guests a unique and exceptional experience.

Properties featured in the guide are also eligible for the MICHELIN Key distinction, an accolade that recognizes service excellence, akin to the MICHELIN Star in the restaurant industry.

The DOT noted that the growing representation of Philippine hotels in the MICHELIN Guide reflects the country's strengthening position in the global luxury travel market and supports ongoing efforts to elevate service standards in the tourism and hospitality sectors.

Looking ahead, the MICHELIN Guide will publish its inaugural Philippine edition in 2026.
