Camille Villar corners votes in Mindanao after VP Sara Duterte's endorsement

Millennial senatorial candidate Camille Villar received overwhelming support in Davao Occidental on Thursday, following the strong endorsement of Vice President Sara Duterte.

Weeks after securing the backing of the Vice President, Villar saw a snowball of support in Mindanao, particularly during a meet-and-greet event with multi-sectoral groups at Tabat Gym in Malita.

Davao Occidental lone district Representative Claude Bautista and DUMPER Partylist Representative Claudine Diana Bautista-Lim both endorsed Villar’s Senate bid during the gathering.

Speaking before barangay officials, solo parents, tricycle drivers and operators, senior citizens, and youth representatives, Villar vowed to champion legislation and projects focused on her advocacies. These include women empowerment, housing, education, mental health, gender equality, financial literacy, and support for small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs).

“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa mainit ninyong pagtanggap,” Villar said. “Alam n’yo po sa panahon ngayon, sa panahon na maraming hinaharap na batikos, malaking bagay po ang inyong pinakitang suporta, ang inyong mainit na pagtanggap at pagmamahal na ipinakita n’yo po ngayong hapon sa akin.”

She added that she draws strength from the outpouring of support and committed her full backing to the people of Davao Occidental.
