BACOLOD CITY – The Coast Guard District Southern Visayas (CGDSV) has deployed 310 personnel to augment police securing the May 12 mid-term elections in the Negros Island Region (NIR).

Commodore Ludovico Librilla Jr., commander of PCG District Southern Visayas, said that 97 were sent to Negros Oriental, followed by Negros Occidental, including Bacolod City, with 74, and Siquijor, 49.

In Negros Occidental, 35 were from the northern Negros Occidental Coast Guard, and 39 were from the southern Negros Occidental Coast Guard.
A send-off ceremony for them was held at their headquarters on Friday, May 9.
Librilla said that their mission is to uphold a peaceful, orderly, and secure electoral process, ensuring that every Filipino can cast their vote safely and confidently.
