PAL takes top spot in Asia-Pacific on-time performance report
Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) secured the top spot for punctuality among Asia-Pacific airlines in April 2025, according to the on-time performance report by aviation analytics firm Cirium.
With an on-time arrival of 86.07 percent, PAL was seen outperforming the flag carriers of Japan, Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong, alongside other major airlines.
The London-based Cirium defines on-time arrival as flights arriving within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time.
Its April rating is a massive improvement from the 81.98 percent in March and 73.95 percent in February.
Meanwhile, PAL’s on-time departures stood at 83.55 percent, meaning its flights depart within 15 minutes of the scheduled departure time.
The airline received a rating of 81.11 percent under the “within block time” subsector, which measures the percentage of flights completed within their scheduled time.
During the entire month of April, PAL flew 9,985 flights.
Of this amount, Cirium said 99.41 percent of the flights were completed, meaning they were not cancelled.
The firm tracked the majority of PAL’s flights, specifically 99.84 percent, to confirm its status as the most on-time airline in the Asia-Pacific region.
