QCPD Officer-in-Charge Col. Randy Glenn Silvio identified the suspect as “Eduardo,” 22, a former worker at the same establishment. He voluntarily turned himself in days after the incident.
The victim’s body was discovered in the store's kitchen around 8:50 a.m. on May 4. Investigators believe Eduardo entered the store the night before, stabbed the victim multiple times, and fled the scene.
According to police, they received a tip from the suspect’s sibling indicating Eduardo’s willingness to surrender.
With the assistance from Police Regional Office 13, he surrendered at Barobo Municipal Police Station in Surigao del Sur on May 8.
The following day, he was officially transferred to QCPD custody and is set to face charges of murder before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
The QCPD condemned the violent act and assured the public that justice would be served.
The police force also extended its deepest sympathies to the victim’s family and reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and order in the city.
