Magalong endorses Kiko Pangilinan; Laguna officials back Bam Aquino

This was what Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said in endorsing former senator Kiko Pangiinan in his senate comeback bid.
"Para sa pagsulong ng kapakanan ng ating mga farmers, sa pagsulong ng reporma sa agrikultura, ibalik po natin si Senator Kiko Pangilinan (For the advancement of the welfare of our farmers, for the progress of agricultural reform, let us bring back Senator Kiko Pangilinan)," Magalong said in a video message on Friday, May 9.
"Para sa tapat at totoong pamamahala, patas na kita para sa ating magsasaka at mangingisda, abot kaya at masustansyang pagkain para sa lahat, ipanao nating ang tama, ipanalo natin ang katotohanan, ipanalo natin si Kiko Pangilinan (For honest and genuine governance, fair income for our farmers and fisherfolk, affordable and nutritious food for all — let us make what is right win, let us make the truth win, let us make Kiko Pangilinan win)," Magalong added.
Magalong and Pangilinan worked together during the time of former president Benigno Simeon Aquino III in going after rice cartels and smugglers in the country which led to lower price of rice and other food commodities.
Meanwhile, senatorial candidate Bam Aquino secured the endorsement of San Pedro, Laguna officials.
San Pedro, Laguna Mayor Art Mercado expressed his support to Aquino during a grand rally of Team Mercado-Olivarez on Friday at the San Pedro City Plaza.
Aquino was also endorsed by other local officials and candidates of Team Mercado-Olivarez.
If reelected, Aquino aims to push for an increase in the budget for the Free College Education Law so that more youth in Laguna can benefit from it.
He also wants to pass a law ensuring guaranteed jobs for Filipinos, in order to complete the reforms he envisions.
“Mahalaga na upang makumpleto ang reporma, upang maabot iyong pangarap ng mga kabataan natin, hindi lang po tulong sa edukasyon, tulong din na makahanap ng siguradong trabaho ang kailangan ng mga graduate natin (It is important to complete the reforms and to help our youth achieve their dreams—not just through educational assistance, but also by helping our graduates find guaranteed employment)," Aquino said.
“Kailangan sa dulo ng pag-aaral, mayroong trabahong regular, trabahong may makataong sahod, at trabahong bagay sa pinag-aralan ng mga kabataan (At the end of their studies, there should be regular jobs, jobs with humane wages, and jobs that match what the youth studied)," he added.
