From May 11 to 14, the DOH said its Central Office will be on Code White Alert status, which means that all medical personnel, including general and specialized health teams, will be on standby for immediate mobilization.
“This is to ensure the readiness of health facilities and personnel to respond to any potential health emergencies before, during, and after election day on May 12,” the DOH said.
Under this status, hospitals and healthcare facilities under the DOH will also closely monitor any incidents to provide prompt medical assistance if needed.
The DOH emphasized that this proactive measure ensures the preparedness of health facilities and personnel throughout the 2025 election period.
The move also aims to address potential health and safety risks such as heat-related illnesses, minor injuries, and other emergency medical cases that may arise during the electoral process.
Amid high temperatures in many areas, the public is urged to stay hydrated, avoid overcrowded places when possible, and immediately seek medical help from the nearest health station or hospital if experiencing symptoms of distress.
For emergency assistance, the DOH said the public may contact its official hotlines and communication channels.
