Thief arrested after GPS helps victim locate stolen gadget in U-belt, Manila

Police arrested a 39-year-old man for allegedly stealing a student's tablet at a restaurant in Sampaloc, Manila, after the victim successfully tracked the device using a global positioning system (GPS).
According to the police report, the incident took place at around 6 p.m. while the victim and her classmates were dining at a restaurant on Morayta Street.
After an unsuccessful search, the victim activated the GPS tracking feature and, by 10:00 p.m., located the device near the outpost on P. Noval Street, Sampaloc.
During questioning, Domingo admitted to stealing the tablet when the victim left her bag unattended.
A theft (salisi) case is being prepared for filing at the Manila City Prosecutor’s Office.
