Taguig LGU opens government facilities in EMBO barangays

  • Residents of EMBO barangays can now access the government facilities 

The Taguig City government opened government facilities in EMBO (enlisted men’s barrio) barangays after getting a temporary restraining order (TRO) from a court. 

Last May 5, Executive Judge Loralie Cruz Datahan of the Taguig Regional Trial Court issued the TRO for Makati to cease obstructing the Taguig City government from accessing and possessing government facilities in EMBO barangays. 

The Supreme Court issued a ruling in 2023 transferring 10 EMBO barangays under Makati to Taguig. These are Cembo, Comembo, Pembo, East Rembo, West Rembo, South Cembo, Pitogo, Post Proper Northside, Post Proper Southside and Rizal. 

Following the order, the Taguig City government opened health centers and basketball courts in EMBO barangays. These facilities were built when EMBO barangays were still under Makati. 

“Sa wakas! Natapos na din ang dalawang taon na kailangan pa kayong i-shuttle sa pinakamalapit na Taguig operated health center. Matatapos na din ang mga medical missions na kinailangan nating gawin sa kalsada at tiisin ang tindi ng init at ulan (Finally! The two years of having to shuttle you to the nearest Taguig operated health center are over. The medical missions that we had to do on the road and endure the intense heat and rain will also be over),” Taguig Mayor Lani commented on Facebook. 

The Taguig City government opened the following EMBO health centers on May 7: 

Operating Hours - 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Monday to Friday)

South Cembo Health Center – Gen. Aguinaldo St. South Cembo (attached to South Cembo Barangay Hall)

Pembo Health Center – Sampaguita St. Corner Santan, Pembo 

Pitogo Health Center – Cebu St., Pitogo (attached to Pitogo Barangay Hall)

Comembo Health Center – Anahaw St., Comembo (attached to Comembo Barangay Hall)

Cembo Health Center – 110 Kalayaan Avenue (until further notice)

Rizal Primary Health Center – Amarillo St., Rizal (along main road of Barangay Rizal)

East Rembo Health Center – 23rd Avenue, East Rembo

West Rembo Health Center – J.P. Rizal Extension, West Rembo (also serves Post Proper Northside residents)
