Government anti-narcotics authorities seized on Wednesday, May 7, around P6.8 million worth of suspected shabu following the arrest of a drug suspect during a buy-bust operation in Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur.
In a statement, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said the suspect, Nasrodin Macari Acmad, 32; of Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lanao del Norte was collared after selling a vacuum-sealed transparent pack containing approximately 1,000 grams of suspected shabu to a PDEA undercover agent at around 9:30 p.m. in Purok Santa Cruz, Barangay San Carlos.
The confiscated drug evidence was packed inside a gold-colored tea pack labeled "GUANYINWANG" and “KK1916.”
Aside from the more or less one kilogram of shabu, the authorities also confiscated several non-drug items including a paper bag, plastic containers, an android phone, a Kawasaki motorcycle with sidecar, and the boodle cash topped with a genuine P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money.
Acmad faces charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of illegal drugs), Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165.
