Various women's organizations in Marikina have aired their support for the mayoralty bid of Marikina 1st District Rep. Maan Teodoro, wife of incumbent Marikina City Mayor Marcy Teodoro, on Thursday, May 8, citing her strong commitment to championing a women-centered agenda in the city.

The groups, representing sectors such as private schools, zumba communities, families of migrant workers, homeowners’ associations, and grassroots organizations, made the statement as they express their confidence in the lawmaker's ability to sustain and expand pro-Filipino programs that support local industries, especially small businesses and entrepreneurs.

The lawmaker, as well as her husband, who is gunning for a seat in the House of Representatives, have earned the backing of various Marikina labor and youth groups, lauding their dependable leadership, especially during times of crisis such as the pandemic and various natural calamities.
More than 40 Marikina City clans and stakeholders from the shoe industry have also expressed their full support for the Teodoros.
Teresita “Ging” Deles, the first woman Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process and the broker of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB), has also endorsed Teodoro's mayoralty bid, citing her solid track record and clear vision for the city.
In her Facebook post, Deles shared Teodoro’s video outlining her plans and programs to boost local businesses and create fresh jobs for Marikenos.
“Magkakaroon tayo ng Commercial District Development sa Sumulong Highway Area na magdadala ng maraming trabaho at kabuhayan para sa mga taga-Marikina,” Teodoro said.
She also plans to establish a Special Economic Zone for factories and manufacturing plants, as well as a Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) to support micro and small enterprises.
“Magbibigay tayo ng negosyo package, panimulang puhunan at libreng financial trainings para masigurong lalago ang mga negosyo. Magkakaroon din ng expanded business permit at tax exemptions para mas maraming maliliit na negosyo ang makinabang,” she said.
Teodoro aims to revive Marikina’s local tourism through City-Organized Food Crawls and Heritage Tours to attract more visitors.
She also committed to strengthening the city’s iconic shoe industry by building the Marikina Shoe Trade Center and a Shoe Warehouse and Coworking Space for manufacturers and shoemakers.
