The latest celebrity endorsement for Aquino came from phenomenal star Vice Ganda, who released a video on her Facebook page wherein she was seen singing “Bam Bam Bida Bam Bam Bida Bam” while appearing to film her lips with a mobile phone.
She passed the phone to various artists and individuals, including OPM icon Ogie Alcasid and singer Darren Espanto, who gamely sang along.
After receiving the phone back, Vice Ganda faced the camera and said, “Ibalik sa Senado ang matino at matalino. Bam Aquino. No. 5 sa balota (Bring honesty and excellence back to the Senate. Bam Aquino, No. 5 in the ballot.”
Aquino thanked the star for her “unkabogable” support and for continuously using her platform for the good of the Filipino people.
“Ang pangako natin sa madlang pipol sa pagbabalik natin sa Senado: magsisipag tayo at tututukan ang mga bagay na tunay na mahahalaga sa buhay ng mga Pilipino. Para sa Libreng Kolehiyo at Siguradong Trabaho, ipanalo natin ang mga Pilipino (My promise to the masses is when we return to the Senate: we will work hard and focus on things that are truly important to Filipinos. For Free College and Guaranteed Employment, let’s win for the Filipinos)!,” he added.
Meanwhile, Pangilinan also received a big boost to his candidacy with the endorsement of Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia, becoming the only non-Alyansa ng Bagong Pilipinas senatorial aspirant to get her support.
Despite coming from different ends of the political spectrum, Garcia said she decided to endorse Pangilinan because of their long-standing friendship.
“He really went out of his way to greet me and to say hello. How are you, give my regards to Pablo John. I was so touched by that gesture,” she said during a gathering of barangay captains and mayors from the province’s 5th and 6th districts.
“Diyan mo talaga makikita kung anong klaseng tao siya (There, you can really see what kind of person he is),” she added.
The former senator is currently in the province for a “Kita-Kiks sa Cebu Rally” later at the Plaza Independencia, Cebu City.
The rally will be attended by Megastar Sharon Cuneta-Pangilinan, Piolo Pascual, Gary Valenciano, Kuh Ledesma, Pinky Amador, and Darren Espanto, while Pooh and Nikki Valdez will host the event that will start at 4:30 p.m.
