Softdrinks plant executive wounded in shooting

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A softdrinks plant executive was wounded and his driver was killed in an ambush by riding-in-tandem gunmen here on Monday night, May 5.
Police identified the fatality as Junjun.
The wounded was Che Stalin Rodriguez, general manager of the Pepsi-Cola bottling plant and a resident of Zamboanga Sibugay province.
Investigation disclosed that the victims were traveling on San Isidro St. in Barangay Mercedes here when the suspects appeared and fired at them.
They were taken to a local hospital here where Junjun succumbed to bullet wounds and Rodriguez recuperating.
The suspects escaped toward Barangay Lumbayao, this city.
Police recovered seven empty .45 caliber shells in the area.
