Senior citizen dies in Naic bus accident

CAVITE – A male senior citizen died in a road crash involving a passenger bus along Antero Soriano Highway in Naic, on Tuesday, May 6.

A report from the Police Regional Office 4A said the victim was a 65-year-old laborer.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim was crossing the street while pushing his bicycle at 11:50 p.m. when he was hit by a passenger bus that was bound for Manila.

The victim sustained head injuries and was brought by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council to the hospital but was pronounced dead.

The driver of the bus is now under police custody and is facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.

The Naic Municipal Police Station told the Manila Bulletin that the bus driver’s family is now in communication with the victim’s family regarding a possible settlement.
