- Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval and former Congressman Ricky Sandoval on Wednesday, May 7, officially received the endorsement from Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) for the upcoming national and local election.
The endorsement, they said, will further strengthen their bid for re-election and return to public office, respectively, as they lead the “Team Kakampi” slate in the May 12 polls.
Sandoval expressed her gratitude to the INC for their unwavering support for their candidacy and public service to Malabuenos.
"Laking pasasalamat po natin sa Iglesia ni Cristo sa kanilang pag-endorso sa atin at sa ating mga Kakampi para sa ating pagtakbo bilang alkalde ng Malabon. Ito po ay magsisilbing inspirasyon at lakas natin sa pagpapatuloy ng tapat na pagseserbisyo (We are deeply grateful to the Iglesia ni Cristo for their endorsement of our candidacy and that of our allies in our bid for the mayoralty of Malabon. This expression of support will serve as a source of inspiration and strength as we continue to uphold honest and dedicated public service for our constituents),” she said.
“Makasisiguro po kayo na ang suporta po ninyo at ng bawat kababayang Malabueno ay hindi masasayang dahil mas pag-iigihan pa po natin ang pagbibigay ng napapanahong mga programa para sa pangangailangan ng lahat (You can be assured that your support—and that of every Malabon resident—will not go to waste, as we will further strengthen the delivery of timely programs that address the needs of all),” Sandoval added.
Now seeking a second term, Mayor Sandoval has prioritized efficient and people-centered governance since her 2022 victory.
Among her key initiatives is the Malabon Ahon Blue Card, launched in 2022, which provides quarterly financial aid to over 91,000 families.
She also led the distribution of Certificates of Eligibility for Land Allocation to more than 700 families, giving them security over the land where their homes stand.
To improve housing, the city is building two mid-rise socialized housing projects in Barangays Tinajeros and Potrero.
In education, the local government awarded scholarships to 5,738 students from the City of Malabon University for the 2024–2025 academic year.
Meanwhile, former Congressman Ricky Sandoval is best known as the principal author of Republic Act 9019, which converted Malabon into a highly urbanized city in 2001—laying the foundation for enhanced local governance and services.
He also led the construction of the San Lorenzo Ruiz Hospital and the establishment of Malabon City National Science and Mathematics High School and Maritime High School within Santiangco Syjuco Integrated School, expanding opportunities in science and maritime fields for Malabon youth.
“Ang suportang ito mula sa Iglesia ni Cristo ay mas nagpapatatag sa atin sa pagpapatuloy ng ating layuning makapagsilbi ng tunay para sa mga Malabueno (This endorsement from Iglesia Ni Cristo strengthens our commitment to continue serving Malabon and its people with genuine concern and action),” he said.
The INC also endorsed the nine Team Kakampi councilor candidates running with the Sandovals in the local elections.
