InfinitUs Marketing Solutions Inc. CEO Paul Li addressed allegations surrounding the company’s activities during a press conference in Quezon City on Tuesday, May 6.
Accompanying him was his lawyer, Attorney Roberto Labe Jr., who emphasized that InfinitUs has legally engaged in public relations (PR) work for various clients, including the Chinese Embassy.
“As one of the clients of the corporation, the China Embassy, we do not deny that part of the PR thing that the corporation is doing is really to enhance more understanding and cooperation between the Philippines and China,” Labe said.
He clarified that InfinitUs is not the only PR event company working with the China Embassy. He said several companies are engaged in similar work.
Labe also dismissed speculation that Infinitus is involved in espionage.
“And as regards why we are pinpointed as a spy, I could not speculate. But perhaps -- maybe -- it's because he's a Chinese person,” Labe added, referring to Li.
Labe reiterated Infinitus' compliance with Philippine laws.
"We heard yesterday regarding the statement of ASC that this corporation is legitimate. It followed the established laws in the Philippines pertaining to the 1991 Investment Act. Rest assured that we are fully cooperating with the current investigation being conducted by NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) because, again, we are a legitimate corporation and we want to come out clean,” he said.
Labe also highlighted the company's previous PR services for various events, which included community pantries and hospital donation drives.

Li addressed concerns about his frequent travels between China and the Philippines, explaining that his trips are due to his wife’s ongoing cancer treatment.
“In 2019, I went back to China. At that time, it was a business trip. So I just stayed in China for a few days, then I came back. So it's been like 7 years, I didn't really see my parents, last year, we decided to have a family reunion, “ he said.
“Unfortunately, my wife confirmed stage 4 cancer. So instead of enjoying the family reunion, we have to start the treatment since last June,” he added.
He said his wife remains in China for her cancer treatment, which is why he frequently travels. His business and children remain in the Philippines.
Li also distanced himself from politics, saying “Politics is not my world. I’m just a regular businessman. And I truly hope that all of this ends soon so I can go back to doing what I know — running my business, serving my clients, and most of all, living a quiet and peaceful life with my family.”
