GMA Network, the country's leading broadcast media company, continues to excel in impactful and compelling storytelling, earning major honors at the Gandingan Awards 2025. The Network earned 19awards at the ceremony recently held at the University of the Philippines—Los Baños (UPLB).
The Network's flagship newscast, "24 Oras," won "Most Development-Oriented Feature Story” for “How to Spot Deep Fake.” In comparison, “24 Oras" co-anchor and Kapuso Action Man Emil Sumangil was conferred with the "Best News Anchor” award.
“Balitanghali" co-anchor Raffy Tima was named "Best TV Program Host,” while Joseph Morong won "Best Field Reporter."
"The Atom Araullo Specials: Mga Boses sa Hukay" took home the "Most Development-Oriented Documentary” award, while "Reporter's Notebook: Nasaan ang Pera: Pabahay” won “Most Development-Oriented Investigative Story.”
Widely regarded as the most important Philippine TV series of 2024, GMA Entertainment Group’s “Pulang Araw” was recognized as the "Most Development-Oriented Drama Program."
Earning awards for GMA Synergy are "JuliexStell: Ang Ating Tinig" as "Most Development-Oriented Musical Segment/Program" and the "NCAA Siglo Uno: Inspiring Legacies" as "Most-Development-Oriented TV Plug."
GMA News Online's "Living the History: Reenactment Buffs Tell Tales of Filipinos' Wartime Valor" won "Most Development-Oriented Online Feature Article.” For radio, Barangay LS 97.1 host Papa Dudut won as "Best FM Radio Program Host."
Various Kapuso shows and personalities also received Core Awards from the Gandingan Awards. Multi-awarded broadcast journalist Jessica Soho led the list of winners, who was honored with the "Gandingan ng Kalikasan" award. Soho hosts the multi-awarded news magazine program Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS). The episode "Nickel and Dime" also won as "Most Development-Oriented Environmental Program.”
GTV’S flagship newscast "State of the Nation" won "Most Development-Oriented Gender Transformative Program."
Online, GMA Integrated News’ "The Howie Severino Podcast" won for "Most Development-Oriented Educational Program."
Meanwhile, Kim Atienza and Martin Javier were recognized with the "Gandingan ng Edukasyon" and "Gandingan ng Kabataan" awards, respectively. Both are hosts of nightly segments on "24 Oras," with Atienza providing knowledge to viewers on "KuyaKimAnoNa" and Javier featuring a miscellany of scientific inventions and other innovations on "Game Changer."
The GMA Network awards included "Dear SV," which won "Most Development-Oriented Public Service Program," and "Gandingan ng Kabuhayan" for the weekend program "Agripreneur."
