EPCALM Foundation marks 20 years with star-studded Hope Gala
A night of hope
EPCALM was founded by Dr. Erlyn Cabanag-Demerre in honor of her brother, who succumbed to leukemia. The foundation is dedicated to providing practical assistance and support to adult leukemia patients and their families. Having witnessed the loneliness of her brother’s journey more than 20 years ago, Dr. Erlyn was determined to ensure that no one faces this fight alone. As a cardiologist, she speaks not only as a medical specialist, but also as a sister. Having stood by her brother’s side, she knows all too well the mental anguish, financial burden, and daily stress that accompany a leukemia diagnosis.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit adult leukemia patients and their families served by EPCALM. The foundation offers personalized, family-oriented programs and a range of services through its spiritual, medical, and financial support arms.
