Fashion often plays a key role in life’s biggest moments. For their special days, women opt for gowns that look straight out of a fairy tale. Men appear dashing in tuxedos and suits while celebrating milestones. Even on birthdays, a casual look that captures one’s personal style can mark the beginning of a new chapter. Celebration and style go hand in hand, with the power to elevate shared experiences. That’s what Marriott Moments A-Fair aims to highlight. Now in its fourth season, it introduces the concept of the Luxuriant Expo—a one-of-a-kind exposition celebrating weddings, events, fashion, and the arts.
To bring this vision to life, Marriott Bonvoy has partnered with renowned names in hospitality, weddings, and special events. These include Themes and Motifs, a leading bridal fair organizer, and the dynamic Spotlight Couronne Internationale (SCI) from Canada.
A key highlight of this year’s Marriott Moments A-Fair Luxuriant Expo is its collaboration with Calgary International Fashion and Arts Week (CIFAW). Now on its ninth year, CIFAW is a global celebration of fashion, serving as a platform for networking, education, and conversations on trends, inclusivity, and the future of the fashion industry. For this edition, Limuel Hayag Vilela and Alvin Masangkay Francia—president and chief creative director of CIFAW, respectively—are bringing the fashion and arts festivities to the Philippines.
“Manila, we are coming ‘home,’” said Limuel and Alvin. “Masarap bumalik sa tahanan na humubog sa’yo bilang tao at ibahagi ang tagumpay ng iyong pakikipagsapalaran at paglalakbay (It’s fulfilling to return to the home that shaped you as a person and share the success of your struggles and journey). We’re coming home!”
As a milestone event, Marriott Moments A-Fair Luxuriant Expo and the ninth CIFAW will converge at one massive venue—the MGBX Exhibition Hall at the Marriott Grand Ballroom.
“The MGBX Exhibition Hall fulfills its promise of providing a dedicated space for one of the major sectors of the tourism industry: meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE),” said Lala Quilantang, Marriott International’s area director of sales and distribution for the Philippines. “It is a 3,800-sqm exhibition space located on Level B1 of the Marriott Grand Ballroom. The ‘X’ in MGBX symbolizes collaboration and partnership—an inclusive space that unites individuals, groups, and industries.”
Speaking of collaborations, to give audiences a preview of what’s to come at this year’s expo, Marriott Moments A-Fair and CIFAW invited featured designers to present a teaser of their upcoming showcases. Gracing the press preview runway were the ethereal bridal creations of Odelon Simpao. Designer John Ablaza displayed pieces featuring wooden adornments. Filipino-Canadian designer Maliyah Abenir brought an edgy twist with her take on streetwear. Lastly, fashion designer Kenny Ladaga, along with Limuel and Alvin’s brand SCIPH, demonstrated occasionwear that merges classic silhouettes with modern flair.
