Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto became the butt of jokes anew after netizens commented on the high quality of photo he recently posted on Facebook.
The clear photo that he posted was a far cry from the blurred TikTok video that he posted in December last year which went viral and became a source of amusement for netizens.

On April 8, the mayor posted on his Facebook page his stand against money politics and explained why he still has fewer campaign materials than other candidates running for local government positions.
Some netizens noticed that Sotto seemed to have upgraded his phone due to the good quality of the photo that he posted.
“Wow, parang nag-upgrade ka na ng selpon, Mayor ah (Wow, it looks like you’ve upgraded your phone, Mayor!),” a netizen said.
“Mahirap naman daw kasi dalhin yung CCTV ng City Hall (It’s hard to carry around the City Hall’s CCTV),” another netizen joked.
In 2024, Mayor Vico became the subject of playful remarks, with some netizens joking, "Gamit na gamit ang CCTV sa City Hall ng Pasig ah (The CCTV at Pasig City Hall is certainly getting a lot of use),” and "Mayor, ba't naman sa CCTV ng munisipyo ka nag-video? (Mayor, why film using the City Hall's CCTV?).”
Sotto, however, did not upgrade his phone. Instead, he borrowed a phone to take the clear photo that he posted.
In a TikTok video posted by “JM030797,” the mayor was seen during the campaign asking someone, “May phone ka? Selfie ako” (Do you have a phone? I’ll take a selfie).
Some netizens' comments included:
“Puring-puri sa FB na malinaw na, tapos hiniram pala ni mayor (He was praised on Facebook for the clear photo, only to find out that he just borrowed the phone to take it).”
“Understandable namang humiram, ang hirap kaya magdala ng CCTV habang naglalakad-lakad (It’s understandable that he borrowed the phone; it’s hard to carry a CCTV while walking).”
“Mayor naman, kala ko kumupit ka na sa kaban ng bayan para bumili ng phone! (Mayor, I thought you were already taking money from public funds to buy a phone!).”
“Ayaw na niyang gamitin ang cellphone niya, jinajudge niyo kasi” (Now he doesn’t want to use his phone anymore because you’re judging him).”
“Low quality man ang pics at videos, high resolution naman ang pagbabago, hehehe sana” (The pictures and videos may be of low quality, but the change is in high resolution).”
